Minia University, headed by Dr. Essam Farhat, held the first event of its
Golden Jubilee celebrations by organizing an expanded introductory symposium on
the project “Green Entrepreneurship – The Smart Complex for Enhancing
Agricultural Productivity and Sustainable Development.”, the winner
project of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”
and is led by the North Upper Egypt Regional Alliance. The
seminar was held at the Grand Hall of the University Conference Center, aiming
to introduce the project’s objectives, components, main pillars, and its work
packages and tracks.
The seminar was attended by Major General Emad Kadwany Governor of Minia,
Dr. Hossam Othman, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Mohamed Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor of
Minia, Dr. Ayman Hassanein, Vice President of the University for Community
Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud, Vice President for
Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hossam Shawky, Vice President for Graduate
Studies and Research, Dr. Eman Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education;
as well as the project’s Executive Director and Advisor to the University
President for Innovation Affairs, in addition to representatives of the project
alliance members and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
In his speech, Dr. Essam Farhat emphasized that Minia
University’s alliance, which won the “Green Entrepreneurship”
project as one of only nine winning alliances out of 104 alliances that applied
for the competition, with the participation of 808 industrial entities and
institutions, reflects the university’s advanced position as a hub for
innovation and entrepreneurship and embodies the confidence placed in its
distinguished human capital.
