The President of Minia University
Prof. Dr. Essam El-Deen Farahat, announced the launch of a new integrated
convoy organized by the University to Remon village, Mallawi Center. The convoy
aims to provide free services for the village residents. This initiative comes
as part of the university’s keenness to fulfill its leading role in the
presidential initiative” A New Beginning for Human Building”, in order to empower
citizens through health, education, cultural development with the
participation of the all the country institutions contributing to the building
of the Egyptian human being.
Professor. Farahat emphasized that the convoy witnessed huge number of
people at its various clinics, which offered services in 9 various
medical majors including Pediatrics, ophthalmology, urology,
otolaryngology (ENT), psychiatry and neurology, rheumatology and
rehabilitation, chest diseases, internal medicine, and orthopedics.
During
the visit, the medical staff examined about 652 cases, and patients received
free medications from the convoy's pharmacy based on their diagnoses, in addition to organizing a campaign to
screen for non-communicable diseases and measure blood pressure and blood sugar
levels for patients through the pharmacy accompanying the convoy, with the
participation of pharmacy students under the supervision of Dr. Amal Kamal,
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Dr. Ayman Hassanein, Vice President
of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, added
that the convoy's activities and services were extended to include several
awareness seminars. The Faculty of Nursing organized two seminars on “The Phenomenon
of Bullying Among Children” and the other on “Prevention of Gastroenteritis.”
The Faculty of Early Childhood Education also held an educational seminar on
“Modifying Children's Behavior and Addressing Their Issues.” Furthermore,
students from the Faculty of Sports Science participated in organizing the flow
of visitors to the clinics.
